Mike David
Mike is an extremely experienced and seasoned outdoorsman with a passion for survival training stemming back almost 30 years. His knowledge is based not only on training, but extensive exposure of real life survival situations and emergencies - an attribute not shared by many.
Joining the Royal Navy at 21, Mike spent significant military time in the Mediterranean before progressing to the British Army where he rose to the rank of Captain in the Infantry and seeing 4 years active service.
During Mike's 10 years in the British Armed Forces, he gained extensive experience in Jungle Survival and Jungle warfare with the Ghurkhas, training with Iban tribesman and with SAS instructors at the esteemed military Jungle Warfare and Survival School in Brunei. Mike is a Trueways Jungle Survival Instructor and leads planning activities relating to Trueways Jungle Survival courses.
Mike is also highly knowledgable of and well practiced in Urban Survival techniques and is a key contributor to the Trueways Urban Survival program of activities.
In addition to Mike's survival related skill set, he has also been flying fixed wing aircraft and helicopters for 27 years and currently holds the highest attainable level of pilots license available in the UK and the USA.
As a young lad, Mike started in civil mountain rescue and has enjoyed mountaineering ever since having also worked as a search party leader and a mountain first aider.
Clearly, Mike is a very highly valued member of the Trueways Survival Instructional Team.
