Trueways Courses
Trueways survival training begins with an introduction to the basic elements of survival, then steadily develops and expands upon this groundwork as students gain more knowledge, experience and confidence. All Trueways courses are hands-on and practice-based, and students will apply their skills with increasing independence as they move forward in the programme:
- Survival psychology
- Basic survival equipment
- Shelter siting and construction
- Fire making and maintenance in all conditions
- Heat management and conservation
- Signalling and rescue
- Water acquisition and treatment
- Food identification, acquisition, testing and preparation
- Navigation without aid
Trueways Woodland based Survival Courses run all year round and course vouchers are valid for a full 12 months from purchase (extensions available at extra cost). Course attendees receive a Trueways Survival Tin at the begining of each course and a signed certificate upon completion.

7 Day Advanced Survival Course
£650.00 As low as: £325.00Led only by Trueways most senior and experienced staff, the Trueways 7 Day Applied Advanced Survival Course is unique. No other course available to the general public can offer the same challenge and reward. Trueways staff will provide guidance and assistance, including teaching advanced techniques not normally taught on other courses, but you will find yourselves having to fend for yourselves from the start, albeit with guidance and suggestions. You will have to survive by applying the skills and techniques learned on previous courses, adding advanced skills learned during this course, whilst living entirely off the land (and rivers) for the duration, complete with having to navigate to safety to complete the experience. The Trueways Applied Advanced Survival Course provides a full survival camp experience, with very limited gear and equipment. See below to book.
