2 DAY URBAN SURVIVAL COURSE
Trueways 2 Day Urban Survival and Preparedness Course
Open to All aged 16+
No Previous experience required
The Trueways Survival Urban Preparedness Course, in-keeping with our philosophy of real skills for real situations, seeks to deliver sensible and appropriate survival training for unexpected eventualities in the urban environment. How do we cope with power cuts and other denied services such as water and gas; the option of heading for the hills, as lovely as it sounds, isn't actually practical as life and society goes on. We would still be expected to turn up to work and carry out our normal daily life’s activities. In extreme circumstances the military would be called to give Military Assistance to Civil Authorities (MACA). For this reason we should clearly state this course is not the doomsday approach or the zombie apocalypse. It is focused on sensible preparations, precautions and actions in the event of denial of services as well as safety in urban environments perhaps when travelling or holidaying abroad. Natural disaster and environmental issues are also covered.
Sensible but simple precautions and preparations, coupled with some knowledge and skills based on the real life experience of the experts on the Trueways Team, could make all the difference for you and your family. Be prepared and be safe!
Presented by Trueways Staff who have worked in real life emergencies and disaster relief around the world, the course provides in-depth information and practical skills training which goes beyond the simple advice provided by media and official websites, allowing you to understand the official advice, but preparing you and equipping you to cope for yourselves, in both the short term (until the situation returns to normal or you escape from it) or even in the long term.
This course will cover the following subjects, but not limited to :-
- Utilisation of household items to continue to operate
- Cooking facilities in the event of denied electricity or gas (options, improvisation and feasibility)
- Improvising ovens and cooking facilities
- Improvising cold storage

- Water procurement and storage (large quantities)
